چکیده

The repartition of the separation between energy levels of various isotropic S=1/2 antiferromagnetic chains is studied numerically with the aim of investigating the transition from integrable to non-integrable systems. We begin by displaying the level separation distribution of the integrable Bethe chain. Then two non-integrable systems, two coupled chains and a next-nearest-neighbor coupled chain, are studied as a function of the coupling. We examine how the level spacing evolves from the Poisson distribution to the GOE distribution. Finally we consider the HaldaneShastry 1/r2 model. A number of conclusions regarding the behaviour and relevance of the level spacing distribution in these spin systems is drawn.

Integrable models for confined fermions: applications to metallic grains

We study integrable models for electrons in metals when the single particle spectrum is discrete. The electron-electron interactions are BCS-like pairing, Coulomb repulsion, and spin exchange coupling. These couplings are, in general, nonuniform in the sense that they depend on the levels occupied by the interacting electrons. By using the realization of spin 1/2-operators in terms of electrons...

New Integrable Models from Fusion

Integrable multistate or multiflavor/color models were recently introduced. They are generalizations of models corresponding to the defining representations of the Uq( ̂ sl(m)) quantum algebras. Here I show that a similar generalization is possible for all higher dimensional representations. The R-matrices and the Hamiltonians of these models are constructed by fusion. The sl(2) case is treated ...

Integrable Su(2)-invariant Spin Chains and the Haldane Conjecture

We perform a systematic exact algebraic search for integrable spin-S chains which are isotropic in spin space, i.e. are su(2)-invariant. The families of spin chains found for S ≤ 13.5 support recent arguments in favour of the complete classification of all such integrable chains. The integrable families of spin chains are discussed in the light of the conjectured spin-dependent properties of th...
